P.08 manufactured during WWI by DWM. Receiver is stamped "1916" over the chamber, with DWM proof marks on the right side. Toggle link bears the DWM monogram. German Imperial Reichsadler is present on the receiver, barrel, and breechblock. Non-import marked. Matching numbers include the frame, locking bolt trigger sideplate, trigger, hold-open latch, barrel, receiver, trigger bar, breechblock, firing pin, extractor, forward and rear toggle links, checkered wood grips, and the magazine. Complete with a later produced "G.J. Ensink & Co." leather holster. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of arsenal applied rust blue finish, showing usual wear and thinning on the grip straps and barrel, with areas of light patina showing through the finish in these places. Proof marks and stampings are sharp. Strawed components retain good amounts of finish, showing thinning and wear. Bright mirror bore with well defined rifling throughout. Checkered walnut grips are excellent, showing few minor areas of smoothing. Leather holster is good, showing wear all around and age cracking. Overall, this is an exemplary example of a World War I era manufactured DWM P.08, that a collector would find to be hard to upgrade from.
