Manufactured by DWM for commercial sales within the United States. Receiver bears a horizontal "Crown/N" commercial nitro proof with an American Eagle crest over the chamber. "Crown/N" commercial nitro proof is also present on the bottom of the barrel as well as the left side of the breechblock and forward toggle link. Toggle bears the intertwined DWM monogram. Front of frame is stamped "GERMANY" below the serial number. Matching numbers are present on the frame, locking bolt, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, barrel, receiver, breechblock, and toggle links. Grips and magazine are unnumbered. Magazine is a blued replacement and grip screws are flat contemporary replacements. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning overall that show through to pleasant gray and brown patinas. Strawed components retain good amounts of their finish, exhibiting some light age related discoloration in some areas. Bore is bright, exhibiting light to moderate oxidation and good rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing overall, with some scattered impressions and nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. A very nice example of a DWM Model 1906 American Eagle Luger.
