U.S. Army Model 1917 revolver manufactured by Colt in 1916. Barrel is stamped with Colt's 2-line address over the top, "COLT D.A. 45" on the left, as well as "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the bottom. Rampant Colt logo and eagles head over "S20" inspectors stamp are present on the left side of the frame. "Wartime" blue finish, 5 - 1/2" barrel, clipped blade front sight, and notched rear sights. CONDITION: Metal components exhibit a few areas of wear, areas of high edge wear, as well as a few areas of freckling and light surface oxidation. Grip straps show thinning. Bore is bright, showing light pitting and fair to good rifling throughout. Grips show heavy wear, exhibiting smoothing and dings, as well as a repair to a split on the right grip panel.
