BYZANTINE TRADE WEIGHT GROUP 5th-7th century AD A group of lead weight comprising: three square with incised or stamped decoration; two bifacial circular, one with central cross and punched circles to one side, cross and punched triangular decoration to the reverse, one smaller with two lines of inscription, sun and moon symbol to one side and kneeling nimbate figure holding shield and bird(?) to the reverse; one pentagonal with slightly damaged description; one irregular shape with two raised nimbate heads(?). 558 grams total, 19-60mm (3/4 - 2 1/4").
