BYRON, Lord - Facsimile letter printed by lithography. Originally written on three pages by Byron to the Paris publisher Galignani, addressed from Venice, April 27th 1819. In it he tries again to point out that the publisher is wrong in attributing " The Vampire" to Byron in his magazine. Sold with a rather battered copy of the Works of Lord Byron published by Galignani.* In fact it was John William Polidori who wrote "The Vampyre" in 1816, which is generally regarded as the "first" Vampire book.
