BSA GOLD STAR CATALINA 500 Numerous models bearing the company’s distinctive three crossed rifles logo were very successful, and one of them was certainly the BSA Catalina. This Catalina was produced in 1959, and it is one of the very few survivors of the 800 built between 1959 and 1963. Mainly used for Catalina races (hence its name), it is a scrambler racing bike. This one is among the 31 included in the 1997 Gold Star Owners Club census. Its engine is the famous DBD34 with a capacity of 499 cc. The bike has ASI (No. 010506) and FMI (No. 49691) certifications. The bike is licensed, and still has its original logbook and license plate, making it unique. Used for a road test, it was featured on the cover of the February 1999 issue of the British magazine "The Classic Motorcycle". The bike is fully functional and all the parts, such as the exhaust pipe, air filter, front number plate, fork protections are still the original ones.
