(12 13/16 x 7 15/16 in.), later vellum, old ink lettering on spine, edges gilt and gauffred in an arabesque pattern, vellum of spine tearing, lower inner hinge split, upper inner hinge splitting, old tape repair to covers and to gutters of lower flyleaves, slight marginal soiling to vol. 1 title, minor repairs to gutters of A8 and C4.5 in vol. 2, darkening throughout, occasional slight marginal dampstaining . Collation as in Adams B2924. Vol. 1: 170 leaves (including b4 and G6 blank), vol. 2: 288 leaves (H4 and S6 blank), with pagination and signatures. Roman type, German plant names in gothic type. Shoulder-notes. Titles of both vols. within woodcut borders, full-page woodcut coat of arms of Strassburg on A4v, vol. 1, text of a1r and c1r-v in vol. 1 and 1A2r and 2A2r in vol. 2 within the same woodcut ornamental border, 135 WOODCUTS BY HANS WEIDITZ most full-page, numerous woodcut ornamental and historiated initials, head- and tail-pieces, printer's woodcut device at end (S5v), THE WOODCUTS, BORDERS, INITIALS, ETC., FULLY COLORED IN A CONTEMPORARY HAND.
