Blind-tooled dark-brown morocco, multiple gilt fillets on turn-ins, signed Pagnant, gilt edges. Provenance : the author (1868 sale, lot 429). UNIQUE COPY PRINTED ON VELLUM for the famous bibliographer, numbered 1 in the press. Fifty-nine other copies were issued on various large or special papers, the only ones to contain the "drôleries" extracted from the Chroniques admirables de Gargantua ".
