A view of several men and women holding parade flags gathered near a locomotive stopped on train tracks, adorned with greenery, flags, bunting, and banners, including one along the side which reads "Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers," and one at the head of the locomotive, which reads, "25th Annual Convention / B. of L.E. / Richmond, VA." A portrait of a gentleman is also displayed at the front of the train and may represent one of the leaders of the labor union. The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers was established in 1863, indicating that this photograph was likely taken ca 1888.
