Excellent bronze wall hanging case depicts a scene in deep relief of a Native American Indian carrying a hunting rifle and climbing up along the edge of a ridge, while the angry bust of a bear leans over the ridge above him; has an excellent dark brown patina, artist signed "M. Peinlich, Sct" and by the founder "Cast by Griffoul, Newark, NJ, 1913". Silvered 5.5 in. dial signed "Theodore B. Starr, New York" has applied brass hour numbers, pierced filigree hands and a hinged brass door bezel with beveled and convex crystal; round brass 8 day spring driven movement signed "Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, USA" has a platform lever escapement and half hour strike on a coiled gong. Case is in very good condition, has some bending to the rifle; movement is not running or striking. Dimensions: 27 in. high x 17 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep. Weight: 62 lbs.
