BROGLIE, Louis, Prince de. Autograph letter signed in French ("Louis de Broglie") to an unnamed agent of the British publishers Allen & Unwin, 6 September 1938. 4 pages, 8 o . With English translation. Broglie writes in relation to the 1939 English translation of his Matière et lumière , which was being published simultaneously by Allen & Unwin in England and W.W. Norton in the United States. The work includes several papers on the wave and particle natures of light, and features his 1929 Nobel address. He recommends certain changes, but not to the Nobel lecture: "this text that dates from 1929 is the entire reproduction of the Lecture I gave in Stockholm... consequently it represents a documentary interest and should be reproduced as is."He confirms that he and the editor of the French edition have checked the formulae several times and found no errors.
