(1808-1839) wiedergeben. Die Tafeln zeigen hohe Würdenträger und Militärs in ihren Trachten unter der Herrschaft Mahmoud II (1808-1839). Elbicei Atika war der Name eines Kostümmuseums in Konstantinopel, ursprünglich in der Rüstkammer des Serails im Topkapi Palast. Es könnte sein, dass Brindesi seine Sujets nach den Exponaten dieses Museums gestaltet hat oder dass er den Namen metaphorisch verwendet hat. Mahmoud II. in zeremonieller Kleidung ist eines der Sujets auf Tafel 1. - Einige Seiten etwas stockfleckig, sonst ordentliches Exemplar. Sehr selten.

Gorgeous plate work in bright colours and partly printed in gold, partly in a gold frame, reproducing the costumes of the Ottoman Empire from the reign of Mahmud II. (1808-1839). The panels show high dignitaries and military officers in their costumes during the reign of Mahmoud II (1808-1839). Elbicei Atika was the name of a costume museum in Constantinople, originally in the armoury of the Seraglio in Topkapi Palace. It could be that Brindesi modelled his subjects on the exhibits of this museum, or that he used the name metaphorically. Mahmoud II in ceremonial dress is one of the subjects on plate 1.- Some pages somewhat foxed, otherwise a neat copy. Very rare.
