Breguet, no. 3360, “Répétition or à Ponts”. An extremely fine and important 18K gold openface quarter repeating watch with lever escapement and extensive jewelling, built on the principles of the garde-temps Signed Breguet, No. 3360, sold on 15 November 1819 to John Broadhurst “membre du Parlement d’Angleterre” for the sum of 4,000 Francs Movement: gilded brass, going barrel, jewelled to the centre wheel, straight line lever escapement with draw, three-arm cut bimetallic compensation balance, gold and platinum adjustment screws, balance spring with terminal curve, pare-chute shock absorber, repeating on a single gong with single hammer Dial: engine-turned silver, secured by a single screw, Roman numerals on a blank chapter ring, eccentric subsidiary seconds, blued steel Breguet hands Case: four-body, by Joly, polished, back with engraved monogram “OC” beneath a Countess’s coronet, the interior with engraved reward inscription: " Countess Cowley, 20 Albemarle Street, London, £10 Reward will be paid if los t ” , pull-twist piston for the repeating in the band, gold cuvette Signed: case numbered 2305, 3360B and with Joly’s punch mark, dial signed Breguet et Fils, cuvette signed and numbered Dimensions: 51 mm. diam.
