Marked in several places on the barrel and most other parts with the "D / anchor / C" maker's logo of O.P. Dissen & Cie. Enfield style lock has engraved hammer, maker marked on both the plate and hammer, action functions properly. Two band walnut stock has iron barrel bands, brass buttplate and trigger guard, and a brass shield embossed with a Federal eagle screwed to the wrist. Complete with a correct pattern iron ramrod that is also D/anchor/C marked. Condition: Very good with crisp metal and marks and a medium pewter patina. Crisp action and good bore with scattered pitting. Wood is nice with weak OP Drissen trademark on obverse butt. Rear sight missing elevating slide. A much nicer example of these attractive Civil War import rifles than is usually encountered.
