With autograph letter signed by Elizabeth Custer to Mrs. O’Brien (New York) dated May 9 [no year], thanking her for the kind words about the book and other kind words, signed Elizabeth B. Custer in purple ink, folded and tipped-in on preliminary blank leaf. The final chapter of the life of Custer and his wife, "Libbie," as Yellow-Hair is posted to Fort Lincoln and seeks to tame the wild Indians, culminating in the massacre at the Little Big Horn. Lot Amendments Condition: Rubbing, spine ends frayed, corners a bit bumped; front hinge tender, front free endpaper a bit loose, two owner's signatures, old stamp on front pastedown; else good.
