Divisionibus Archidiaconi…, Gothic letter, printed in red and black throughout, numerous woodcut text vignettes, woodcut initials, double column with surrounding comment, lacking title and first leaves of index before gathering 3 (1-24), K8?, QQ7, and all after p. 320 (from RR8 onwards), occasional spotting and light browning, occasional marginalia in an early hand, rebound in modern half calf, spine in compartments, upper board detached, [Edit16 CNCE13367; P: Camerini, Annali dei Giunti, I, 1962, n. 168; not in Adams, Essling and Sander], 4to, Lucantonio Giunta, Venice, 1514 [sold not subject to return] *** The Decretum Gratiani forms the first part of the Corpus Juris Canonici. It contains the corpus of lectures given by Gratian, a Camaldulens monk from St. Felix, in Bologna in mid-12th century, and which the author later renamed ‘Concordia discordantium canonicum’. Scarce. Last sold at Sotheby’s in 1975.
