[Book of Hours - Rome] Horae dive Virginis Marie secundum usum Romanum totaliter ad longum cum multis suffragis. (Paris, E. Hardouyn for G. Hardouyn), [ca. 8vo: [ff. (f. [49v] with local paint spot, f. [with a very sm. tear, minor soiling, stronger on first and last ff., later foliation in pencil). 18th-c. brown calf, covers with a central gilt coat of arms and ruled with a gilt border, gilt orn. spine with raised bands, green edges (front cover loose, rubbed). Vellum copy. Almanac for 1510-(a2v). Illustrated with full-page woodcuts (i.a. Anatomical Man, John the Evangelist with his chalice and a snake emerging from it, Visitation, Tiburtine Sibyl, Nativity, Adoration of the Magi, Flight to Egypt, Crucifixion, Death of the Virgin) and numerous smaller woodcuts. Gilt-heightened capitals with blue or red background, text ruled in red, penwork decoration in the text. Printed in roman type, ll., and with the large Hardouyns' mark on title depicting the centaur Nessus. Signatures in lower case except the first of each quire. Ref.
