London: John Wolfe for the assignes of Richard Day, 1589, A-L8 M1-7 (of 10?), title within woodcut border [McKerrow & Ferguson 198], woodcut initials, typeset music, final extant leaf defective, some staining

THE UNIQUE SURVIVNG COPY of this edition of the Book of Common Prayer, in a contemporary London binding. The same cornerpieces appear on a binding by Jean de Planche on a 1567 London imprint (Davis Gift 46; for another binding with these cornerpieces, attributed to the "Morocco Binder", see D. Pearson, English Bookbinding Styles, p.58, fig. 3.39).
