Contemporary red straight-grained morocco, gilt ornamental border, flat spine in 6 compartments, one with black morocco gilt lettering-piece, 5 with ornamental gilt tooling, edges gilt concealing a three-paneled fore-edge painting depicting THE ANNUNCIATION, THE VIRGIN MARY AND CHILD WITH ANGELS, and THE RESURRECTION; modern folding case (some staining, lightly rubbed). The fore-edge painting is after work by the German Rennaissance painter Matthias Grünewald (c. 1470 - August 31, 1528).
