BOOK AUCTION CATALOGUE] Bibliotheca B. Defuncti DN. Johann Lysii, Pastoris ad Aedem D, Georg in Suburbio Berolinensium Regium longe... ... Berlin: Typis Schlechigerianis, n.d. [but presumably 1717, see below]. calf backed mottled boards with the stamp "EX BIBLIOTHECA BUNAVIANA" on the rear board and the arms of the owner on the front [c.f. British Library Database of Bookbindings]. 6 1/8 x 3 3/4 inches (15.5 x 9.5 cm); [2], 112 pp.; pi (-pi1, presumably blank), A-G^(8). Spine rather rubbed, repaired tear without loss of text to the endpaper and first two leaves. Possibly incomplete, as there is a catchword at the end for , but note that this was a printer capable of providing the wrong year on an auction catalogue. The catalogue of the collection of the learned German clergyman and author, Johannes Lysius (d. 1716), offered at auction, with viewing locations, etc. The books are arranged in order of size, from duodecimo to folio, and include a quantity of 16th century printing. We can find no records of this catalogue on any of the major databases, and book auction catalogues of this period are rare in any condition. The descriptive catalogue of the Bibliotheca Bunaviana, to which this copy belonged, was issued from Leipzig from 1750 on, listing this work on p. 867. Not listed in WorldCat, Copac; The KVK (Karlsruher Virtueller Katalog) records only the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin copy, confirms the 1717 date, and notes that it was destroyed during the Second World War (indicated Kriegsverlust).
