There is a pencil archive notation, "Taken 12 4 04," on the back. At left, Mercury leans against a frame that encloses a frontal view of Argandona. At right is Mrs. Argandona and an angelic allegorical figure holding a Victory wreath. These design elements, and the borders, are very similar to the final version. Uncirculated, with the corner tips clipped. Rare in any form, and possibly unique as a archival model.
