Contemporary gold-tooled red-morocco-backed orange boards, uncut. Provenance : conte Gaetano Melzi (1783-1851, owner of one of the finest Italian libraries formed in the 19th century), bookplate -- commendatore Tammaro de Marinis (1878-1969, pencil note signed by B.H. Breslauer recording this purchase from him). FINE SPECIAL-PAPER COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION of the first comprehensive bibliography and biography of Bodoni, with a most distinguished provenance.
