AMSTERDAM, 1608, 465 X 624MM., DOUBLE-PAGE ENGRAVED GENERAL MAP, WITH LOSS TO THE BORDERS Blaeu's second folio map of the Low Countries, geographically similar to the first version, but with additional panels along the upper and side borders; unfortunately these made the map oversized and susceptible to damage (as here), a fact quickly recognised by Blaeu who cut down the plate, removing the panels for use in his atlases.
