Engraved map of Cape Charles, Virginia to northern Florida, partially hand-colored, image 390 x 505 mm (470 x 569 mm sheet). With elaborate title cartouche, cherubs, compass rose and sailing ships, and rhumb lines, French text on verso. (Minor repairs along fold and edges.) Second state, the cherub on the left with a tail. "Blaeu's map of the south-east, cartographically it forms a marked improvement on the Hondius map of 1606, from which this was largely derived" (Burden 253).
