This scene depicts a princess receiving birthday gifts from three female attendants, who offer her flowers and perfume, in the palace garden with musicians. The patterned marble decorations to the palace in the background are identical to another illustration from the same Ragmala series in the Sangram Singh family collection (see A. Topsfield, Court Painting in Rajasthan, 2000, p. 54).
