Mayor, 1782" in gilt, flat spines ornately gilt to an all-over floral pattern except for the title-lettering on the Bible volumes, g.e. Three attractive English bindings of about 1782, presumably executed for presentation to John Brown This otherwise unidentified workshop bound another Book of Common Prayer (Cambridge: 1770) with which the present bindings share a large vase and flower tool (see Maggs Bros. catalogue 966, no.154 and reproduction on p.154).
