Beschreibung:

12 gauge, 28" barrel length, S/N 57080. The Beretta Model 11 was the most expensive shotgun manufactured by Beretta at the time with very few specimens made. This rare Beretta shotgun was engraved by Bregoli, who at the time was the best engraver at Beretta. This shotgun showcases a fine floral and banknote-style engraving on the frame, triggerguard, lower and upper tang. The side lock on the left side is a detailed engraving of a wing-shooter with three setters. One of the setters is on point with the two additional waiting for the game to flush. The hunter appears to ready himself for the hunt. The side lock on the right side is of a floral motif bordered with banknote-style engraving. Most impressive is a second style engraving on top of the receiver showing a deep relief engraved floral pattern. The bottom of the frame is marked in a circular pattern "P. Beretta Gardone V.T." Left side of the barrel marked "P. Beretta Gardone V.T." Blue barrel and triggerguard. Front bead sight and mid bead sight. Checkered walnut stock and forearm. Length of pull measures 14.75" and the drop at the heel is 2.5". Accompanying this lot is a letter showing the history of this piece leaving the factory on April 23, 1930 and sent to a "Mr. Balloni." Condition: This is an extremely rare Beretta Model 11 hammerless shotgun that was top of the line production when produced in 1930. With two styles of engraving on the locks, frame, upper tang and trigger guard that are very sharp and artistically done. The barrels display a very old re-blue finish with faint barrel markings. The stocks are good in their refinished state with the checkering being smooth on the butt stock and forearm. Wood is replaced where a sling swivel once was. Bores are very good and mechanically functional. A rare opportunity to own a most scarce Beretta shotgun.
