BENTLEY, WILSON A. (1865-1931) Four circular gold chloride toned photomicrographs of snow crystals ; Together with a composite image of about twenty flakes. Printed from glass plate negatives, the largest 3 x 4 inches (75 x 100 mm), three signed in pencil by Bentley on the verso, with his Jericho Vt. location, two annotated, the multiple image annotated as to snowflake types. Bentley was a Vermont farmer, who in 1885 became the first person to photograph a single snow crystal.
