This version published by the Homann Heirs. Wonderful map of the Great Lakes region, issued just before the French and Indian War, illustrating forts, missions, settlements, Indian tribal territories and villages, and the area claimed by France. One of the first maps to locate Chicago (R. et Port de Checagou). Condition: Framed and glazed. Not removed from frame for examination. Could be laid down on backing (at least around the edges). Surface soil and minor foxing. Scuffing around margin. None of the scuffing, and very little of the soiling extends beyond the wide margins into the print area.
