.44 Russian. 6.5" barrel length. SN: 35254. Single-action revolver with latch mounted rear notch and front blade sights. Blued metal finish with casehardened triggerguard and hammer. Grips are hard rubber with Smith & Wesson superimposed initial logos above boxed checkering. Correct for its serial range, the item lacks frame patent date marks but shows Smith & Wesson trademark to right frame, ".44 S. & W. CTG" on right barrel, and address "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A.". Proof marks include "{Crown}/R" rifled proof and "{Star}/combined TA" mark to underside of cylinder pin housing. Latter mark repeats on cylinder and to lower frame beneath cylinder. Further marks to cylinder include "{Crown}/L" and "{Crown}/ELG" mark. Condition: Fine. Bore is very bright with strong rifling. Metal finish shows edgewear and weakening over barrel and cylinder. Finish to triggerguard is weak with some flecks of brown patina to inside of triggerguard. Some mars and dings to butt surrounding serial number. Grips are worn with some weakness to checkering and residue in seams. Drag lines on cylinder. Action indexes correctly with loose lockup.
