Jh. — Rechteckiger Korpus mit leicht gewölbtem Deckel und klappbarem Frontbrett; flächendeckend in Boulle-Technik mit Schildpattimitat belegt, sowie ornamentale und florale Messing- und Perlmutteinlagen, die Ecken mit vollplastischen Sphingen geziert, im Inneren flacher Schub und aufliegende Kissen aus roséfarbener Moiréseide. 18 x 34 x 26 cm. - Laut beiliegendem Schreiben befand sich das Kästchen in verschiedenem Besitz des europäischen Hochadels und wurde laut handschriftlicher Bestätigung der Prinzessin Sophie Renate Reuß von Köstritz an ihre einzige Tochter Prinzessin Felizitas Reuß verschenkt. Nach dem Tod der Fürstin Felizitas im Jahr 1989 gelangte das Kästchen in den Besitz ihrer Tochter Alexandra, Prinzessin von Hannover. // Significant jewelry box — 2nd half of the 19th c.
