Half title, folding engraved plan, engraved frontispiece, engraved title and numerous engraved illustrations throughout (some light spotting and browning). Contemporary red straight-grained morocco gilt, marbled endpapers, edges gilt concealing a DOUBLE FORE-EDGE PAINTING OF TAKING A FENCE AND HUNGING WITH FALCONS (upper cover and spine torn away, corners bumped). Provenance: H. C. Whalley (gift inscription in ink); Charles Percival (signature in pencil). -- HOOD, Thomas (1799-1845). Whims and Oddities, in Prose and Verse: with Eighty-Seven Original Designs. London: E. Moxon and Son, n.d. Small 8 o (161 x 103 mm). Engraved frontispiece portrait and numerous illustrations.
