Flanders, 1 p, 4to, New Orleans, LA, September 1, 1863, being a Treasury Department receipt acknowledging seizure of General Beauregard’s property, leaf creased horizontally and toned, marked NO 157 / Duplicate” in red pencil at upper left corner, matted with engraved portrait and framed to 16 by 18 ½ inches. Official copy of the U.S. Treasury Department’s seizure of Beauregard’s property in present-day Mid-City New Orleans. In part: “Received into my charge, from Capt. J.W. McClure, A.Q.M. at New Orleans, the following described property, subject to confiscation for account of the U.S. Treasury Department to wit: in square No. 249 bounded by / Terpsichore, Baronne, Melpomene and Dryades Street front on Melpomene Str., Property 32 x 128 / valued $1,000 / The above property is claimed to be the property of G.T. Beauregard of New Orleans / General Rebel Army." 2. Autograph Check Signed ("G.T. Beauregard"), 1 p, 4 by 9 inches,New Orleans, May 17, 1880, drawn on the Mutual National Bank in the amount of $100, cancellation at center right just affecting "T" of signature, tipped at edges to mat. 3. Four Civil War era bullets (with brief typed identifications).
