Beardsley (Aubrey).- Wilde (Oscar) Salomé , 16 plates, all loose as issued, original cloth portfolio, lacking upper flap, slight bumping to corners and extremities, tiny split to middle of lower hinge, 8vo, 1904. ⁂ Issued as a pirated edition by Beardsley's publisher Leonard Smithers under the imprint Melmoth & Co. This was the first edition to include all 16 of Beardsley's 'Salomé' illustrations, and was produced in three states, the standard edition, a deluxe edition and this, the portfolio edition. The first 'authorised' publication of this work was not until 1907.
