Description: Battle of Britain "The Hardest Day 18 August 1940" Fascinating collection of original Letters and questionaires from Luftwaffe and Allied Battle of Britain Pilots most relating to their experiences on this critical day of the Battle of Britain. These were sent to the late Alfred Price, well known aviation historian, to provide background information for his book and a signed copy of his book is included. Pilots include Gerhard Schopfel, Heinz Sellhorn, J.H.Duart, Josef K.Burschgens, Walter Leber, Innes B.Westmacott, W.J.Etherington, Rudiger Proske, Alan Eckford, Theodor Rehm,(war correspondent no parachute!) 4 letters, Dennis L.Armitage, P.H.Tew, Hans Scholler-Haldy, Bertie Coophan, Alan R. Towers, J.R.Kayll, Ben Bowring, Winfrid Schmidt, Bob (Stanford Tuck)etc etc. Note a couple of letters have a Christain name and haven't been identified (Alfred Price would have known who they were!).
