Florence: all'insegna della Stella, 1673. 4°. Title printed in red and black with etched arms of the Medici. 2 folding etched plates. (Dedication leaf with long, closed tear, small segment lacking from outer margin of A3.) Recent marbled boards backed in red morocco, spine titled and dated in gilt. Provenance : Piero Ginori Conti (bookplate). Dedicated on the title page to Grand Duke Francesco and on re-publication to his successor Cosimo III. The 2-page dedication that follows is signed by Orazio Capponi, editor of this edition. One plate shows the piazza Santa Croce before commencement of play, the other demonstrates the playing positions. BL 17th-Century Italian I, p. 74; Brunet I, 653; Gamba 98; cf. Vinciana 127.
