BanksyBritish, b. 1974 Stop and Search Color screenprint, 2007, signed in blue pencil and numbered 234/500 in p... British, b. 1974 Stop and Search Color screenprint, 2007, signed in blue pencil and numbered 234/500 in pencil, with P.O.W. stamp and Heavy Weaponry stamp. 29 1/2 x 22 1/4 inches Provenance: Santa's Ghetto, 2007 Like a 21st Century Duchamp, Banksy is the ultimate art prankster. From illegally hanging one of his own paintings in London's Tate Britain, to manipulating copies of Paris Hilton's pop music CD to include songs with titles like Why Am I Famous?, Banksy has continually created irreverent, brilliantly snide, and culturally significant images both in galleries and museums, as well as in public spaces. Further reading: Wall and Piece, Random House, 2007 C
In apparently good condition, unexamined out of the frame.
