Title: Autograph letter signed by Percy Boomer to Dr. R.H. Ehrenberg, Director of the Public Health Bureau in Granite Falls, Minnesota Author: Boomer, Percy Place: Sunningdale Golf Club, Berks, England Publisher: Date: March 10, 1944 Description: 2-pages, 44 lines, autograph letter signed by Percy Boomer from Sunningdale Golf Club in Berks, England, to Dr. Ehrenberg, which is a follow up letter from other letter by Boomer to Dr. Ehrenberg also in this sale. Includes a 2-page (46 lined) autograph article titled “The Press forward” (dated March 1, 1944), which is discussed in great length in this two-page letter. Inked “Sunningdale Golf Club” in Berkshire, England on the top of the letter (first page). Measures 13x8". Includes the original mailing envelope. Nicely detail letter, carefully thought out impressions as eluded to in Percy's earlier letter (also offered in this sale). Discusses specific golf techniques and ideas and the proper approach to the game of golf. "With over 30 years of teaching as my background it took me close to four years to write a book...You ask if the 'press forward' is part of the preparatory movement…You say in your letter I take up the stance, 'moving about within it'. I shall borrow that if you don't mind…'Seeing is learned too' you say. That excites me. Please let me know your approach to it via the golf ball. Mine's outlined in the book…I hope to meet you one day & the Professor, over a mug of lager, when this bloody business is over [i.e. WWII]. Both Aubrey [Percy's brother] & my son are fighting. We keep going hoping to see them here again soon...sincerely Percy Boomer." Lot Amendments Condition: Letters with original folds, else fine; edge wear to envelope.
