A large collection of autograph letters and fragments, THE MAJORITY ADDRESSED TO FREDERICK, DUKE OF YORK, comprising MEMBERS OF THE ROYAL FAMILY, including George III ('The Emperor has sent Me a very civil compliment on the notice I had sent Him of Your journey to Vienna', 1784), George IV (two), William IV and the remainder of Frederick's brothers; POLITICIANS including William Pitt the Younger (two, one, 10 November 1805, announcing 'a glorious sequel to the Victory of Trafalgar'), Charles James Fox, the 1st Duke of Wellington (two, 1823 and 1825), Spencer Percival, Lords Grenville, Liverpool, Grey, Castlereagh, Eldon, Sidmouth, Palmerston, and ARTISTS AND LITERARY FIGURES including Walter Scott (discussing an appointment for 'our intended academy', 1824), Sarah Siddons, Charles Kemble and Sir Thomas Lawrence; altogether approximately 200 letters, with approximately 137 cut and franking signatures; many with portrait prints; in a 4to album, green morocco gilt.
