Australia tour to England 1964. A good selection of twenty two original mono and sepia press photographs from the 1964 tour and Ashes series. Photographs include four of the Australians at batting and fielding practice at Lord's prior to the opening match. The Queen Mother being introduced to the Australian team, shaking hands with the Australian captain, Bob Simpson, for the match v Duke of Norfolk's XI at Arundel Castle. The Australian team seated and standing in rows at Worcester. England captain, Ted Dexter, in batting action in the first Test at Trent Bridge, signed by Dexter. Nine images of action from the third Test, Headingley, 2nd-6th July, including Peter Burge, Wally Grout, Bill Lawry, Jim Parks, Peter Parfitt, Geoff Boycott etc. all in batting action. From the fourth Test at Old Trafford, Ken Barrington on his way to 256 and being congratulated by Jim Parks on reaching his double century (Bob Simpson scored 311, Ted Dexter 174 and Bill Lawry 106 in the drawn match). Also one from the fifth Test at The Oval with Fred Trueman leading the victorious England team off the field having taken his 300th and 301st Test wickets.
