Property from the Collection of Stan BattatAttributed to Gortzius Geldorp Leuven 1553 - 1618 CologneHead of a lady oil on panel, a fragmentpanel: 16 3/4 by 14 3/4 in.; 42.5 by 37.5 cm.framed: 28 1/4 by 26 1/2 in.; 71.8 by 67.3 cm.Condition reportThe panel is uncradled and has a slight vertical undulation. On the reverse there are two lines of small battens that run vertically: one possibly addresses a join, while the second addresses a crack to the panel. The panel shows an elegant sitters with details in the pearls well-preserved. The join in the front runs through the sitter's left side of her neck while the crack forms a curved line and runs through the sitter's proper left eye and extends to the right side of her neck. These areas have been retouched and fluoresce under UV. Further spots of retouching also fluoresce under UV like a diagonal thick line in the bottom left corner. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The
