Penciled and ink inscription on reverse reads: "Timothy Brainard Egerton/Born August the 10: 1790/Painted by Benjamin Greenleaf at Randolph, Vermont/March 31, 1816/Died in Manchester N.H. 1845 in October." Reverse painting on glass depicting a bust-length portrait of Egerton when he was twenty-six years of age, 12 5/8 x 9 5/8 in., in original frame. Condition: Good. Note: A genealogical search records that Timothy Egerton was born August 10, 1790, and was the sixth of eight children born to Oliver and Lucy (Brainard) Egerton, and resided in Randolph, Vermont.
