Engraved title-page of "Atlas Contractus", hand-colored and HEIGHTENED IN GOLD, image and sheet 431 x 259 mm, mounted on laid paper. (Lightly rubbed.) Atlas, in the background, holds up the world while Mercator, Hondius and Jansson in the foreground examine a chart of the new world. -- WIT, Frederick de. Frontispiece of "Atlas". Amsterdam, ca 1670 or later. Engraved frontispiece of "Atlas", hand-colored, image 445 x 260 mm (529 x 305 sheet). Verso with printed index in Latin.
