Lot of 12, including: Lorado Taft (1860-1936), a talented American sculptor who helped complete works for the Chicago World's Fair; member of "The Eight" an artists' group that opposed restrictive gallery and art museum policies, American painter Ernest Lawson (1873-1939); Ernest Blumenschein (1874-1960), founder of the Taos Society and famous for his work with American Indian subjects; Don Mitchell (1923-2003), New York state representative and advocate for the "Save the Theaters" initiative which established Broadway as a National Historic Landmark; gifted American muralist, Edwin Howland Blashfield (1848-1936), whose fresco murals appeared in the 1893 Chicago World's Fair; Arthur Crisp (1881-1971), Canadian painter, muralist, and designer; Indiana painter, who used the magical realist landscape style, John Rogers Cox (1915-1990); German composer and student of Gustav Weber and Friedrich Hegar, Joseph Lauber (1864-1952); Elihu Vedder (1836-1923), american illustrator best known for his work in Edward FitzGerald's translation of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam; painter, William F. Kline; and poet, playwright, and children's author, James K. Reeve (1909-1978); plus letter addressed to Ernest Briggs (1923-1984), the New York abstract expressionist painter. Condition: Toning on all of the cards.
