Very rare work recording all the paintings which were put up for auction in Brussels in 1773-1803 , so being a very early example of "Art Auction records". Included are the paintings " provenant des couvens supprimés " (confiscated paintings from the abolished convents and monasteries, sale 17/07/1785). On pp. 6-8 is the list of the 58 sales , followed by the list of the more than 4000 paintings with indication of the sale, number in the sale and price fetched at auction. On p. 3 there is a warning that some of the low prices for works of major artists are due to the many copies among the paintings. Paintings are arranged alphabetically per painter, among which great names as Pieter (19 paintings) and Jan (57) Brueghel, Dürer (10), Frans Hals (5), Rembrandt (27), Rubens (137!), Jan Steen (8), Van Dyck (61), Salomon en Jacob Van Ruysdael (18).
