Approximately 10 book cartons. A massive archive assembled by Sarah L. Rowe, friend and personal companion of Pearl S. Buck. Sarah Rowe (1912-1992) met Buck through their mutual association with the Philadelphia Association for Retarded Children, Rowe was an employee of the Association and Buck spoke on behalf of the Association on a number of occasions. In 1952, at Buck's invitation, Ms. Rowe went to live with her and her husband. Pearl wanted a talkative companion and was interested in helping Sarah with her writing. These items were apparently torn into pieces, discarded by Buck and rescued from the waste by Rowe or her associates, they have not been examined as to completeness. Also included are an early typed draft of Buck's play The White Bird and a copy of the finished script inscribed by Buck to Rowe. The archive also contains material relating to other writings of Sarah Rowe. A rare opportunity to gain unique insight into the life and work of this Pulitzer Prize winning author. Lot Amendments Condition: A unique and significant archive. Item number: 206818
