First edition printed in Scotland of the important work by the celebrated Dutch physician and humanist whose teaching drew students from all over Europe to the University of Leiden. First published in 1709, the English language edition, "Aphorisms: Concerning the Knowledge and Cure of Diseases," appeared in 1715. Lot Amendments Condition: Covers worn, rear detached; institutional rubberstamp on front free endpaper, internally very good.
