Wir danken Klaus Ertz für die Bestätigung der Zuschreibung des vorliegenden Gemäldes an Jan Brueghel II. Er datiert das Bild in die frühen 1630er-Jahre. Ein schriftliches Gutachten (März 2019) liegt vor. Die Blumen in der kostbaren vergoldeten Schale sind in der Manier Jan Brueghels I. ausgeführt. Eine frühere Blumenschale (um 1620) entstand als Gemeinschaftswerk von Vater und Sohn (siehe K. Ertz, Jan Brueghel der Ältere, Lingen 2008–2010, S. 958, Nr. 452). Provenance: Collection Riabouchinsky, New York (1924); with David M. Koetser, New York (circa 1943); Private collection, New York; Private collection, Austria; with Galerie Friederike Pallamar, Vienna (1980, as Jan Brueghel I) We are grateful to Klaus Ertz for confirming the attribution of the present painting to Jan Brueghel II. He dates it in the early 1630’s. A written certificate (March 2019) is available. The flowers in the precious guilded tazza have been executed in the manner of Jan Brueghel I. An earlier tazza (circa 1620) has been painted in collaboration between father and son (see K. Ertz, Jan Brueghel der Ältere, Lingen 2008–2010, p. 958, no. 452).
