Showing Donaldson's typical stylisation, Avant Strip Consequence 2 uses the same motif of a woman shown in three vertical snapshots, the angle and detail subtly differing each time, offering an almost cinematic or photographic experience. Focusing on the prospect of pleasure but not its realisation, Donaldson here creates a provocative and stylish piece, the use of highly saturated colour – red, black, turquoise and pink – serving to heighten the sense of anticipation.
