A Voyage round the World in the Years MDCCXL, I, II, III, IV , compiled by Richard Walter, London: for the Author by John and Paul Knapton, 1748. 4° (254 x 201mm). 42 folding engraved plates, plans, charts and maps. (3 maps with clean long tears, lightly browned and spotted.) Contemporary calf (rebacked, new endpapers, rubbed and scuffed, corners bumped). FIRST EDITION. Four editions were pulished in the same year as the original. "Of the two first issues published in 1748, one was for the author himself, which is the genuine first, and the other, often called the first, was for the publishers." Cox I, p. 49; Sabin does not list this edition.
